 Blood donation is a unique and selfless act of generosity that can save lives, improve health outcomes, and foster a sense of community. It involves the voluntary giving of blood by healthy individuals to help patients suffering from medical conditions such as severe injuries, surgeries, cancer treatments, or chronic illnesses. A single donation can save up to three lives.

 The Cayman Islands Cancer Society (CICS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing cancer awareness, initiating positive change, preventing cancer, and providing support to patients and their families. Established in 1995, CICS operates entirely on donations from individuals and corporations, without government assistance. 

Impact of Donations:

Your contributions enable CICS to:

• Fund Medical Procedures: For instance, CI$3,000 covers a PET scan, CI$1,500 funds a biopsy and lab work, and CI$1,000 purchases a hospital bed to enhance patient comfort.
  
• Provide Financial Assistance: CICS offers need-based financial aid to qualified cancer patients for expenses such as surgeries, treatments, airfare, accommodations, food, utilities, and rent.
  
• Support Prevention and Education: Donations help increase the availability of vouchers for cancer-preventative tests and fund educational initiatives to raise awareness about cancer prevention.
